Born in 1967, Alexandre Paiva, also known as “Gigi” began his career in Jiu Jitsu at the age of 15. At 17, he became an instructor at the Jacaré Jitsu Academy. In 1991 he earned his black belt. In 1993 he was one of the founders of the Alliance team alongside Fabio Gurgel and master Romero Jacaré. Gigi has since earned the 6th grade black belt in Jiu Jitsu. He is married to Daniela Genovesi and is the father of three. Mestre Gigi is an athlete of many titles. He is known for charming everyone not only for his technique but for his family style of being and his friendliness.
