Beginner Class Overview

Made for the real world, BJJ is a form of self defense that every person should master. BJJ focuses on ground level altercations – utilizing holds, throws, and a variety of submission techniques. This makes Jiu Jitsu ideal when learning how to take on an opponent who may be larger than you, without necessarily having to hurt them.

Grappling

While many martial art disciplines incorporate grappling here and there, when it comes to BJJ, grappling is at the core of all of your training. Not familiar with grappling? Here’s what you need to know – instead of utilizing weapons or striking, grappling is all about getting your opponent to concede through physical dominance. The rules and techniques of grappling vary depending on whether one is practicing Gi or No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, as well as whether it’s being done in a sport or self-defense style. When grappling in BJJ, you’ll spend the majority of your time fighting from the ground and will likely utilize many different types of chokes.

Intermediate Class Overview

Our Intermediate Jiu Jitsu Class combines many elements from our Fundamentals and Advanced classes, serving as a bridge between the two. This class is perfect for those who have been training for about 4-6 months since it provides more complex variations of the fundamental positions, techniques, and drills used in Jiu Jitsu.

This class is available to those with the rank of White Belt 2 stripes and above. Sparring is optional.

Self-Defense

Advanced Class Overview

Our Advanced Jiu Jitsu classes are specifically designed for those practitioners who want to challenge themselves. Between the high-intensity warm-ups and greater complexity in the techniques taught, the Advanced class is designed for those who want to take their Jiu-Jitsu to the next level. You will be tested every time, but you will surely become better because of it.

This class is available to those with the rank of Blue Belt or above.

Advanced Training

As Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has grown in popularity, the competition has become fiercer than ever before. But there’s nothing to fear – at Alliance Jiu Jitsu Boise, we offer the best of the best. This class is one of the most advanced courses at our school, pushing students to reach higher goals and develop the skill set of their dreams. Students in Advanced/Competition BJJ have a solid grip on the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and are ready to try modern techniques, gain more experience sparring other advanced athletes, and take on new challenges.

A One-of-a-Kind Team

Don’t get us wrong – winning a trophy, out-performing a competitor, or finally reaching a personal goal feels pretty great. But at the end of the day, none of those things are the best part of joining the Alliance Jiu Jitsu Boise competition team.

Women’s Class Overview

While women are encouraged to attend any and all of our classes, we wanted to create something that is specifically catered to the amazing women at Alliance Jiu Jitsu. This course is designed, planned, and taught solely by Alliance Jiu Jitsu’s female instructors, and focuses on self defense for smaller individuals facing larger attackers, reaching fitness goals, and training with like-minded women.

Fitness

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a full-body workout that improves endurance, builds strength and mobility, and provides cardio that will keep your heart healthy. In fact, BJJ will boost your health in all areas of your life. BJJ has been shown to decrease stress, improve mental health, and help you get an amazing night’s sleep. Our women’s BJJ class will work every part of your body and push you out of your comfort zone. Though you’ll feel pretty tired when class is over, nothing compares to the sense of accomplishment that’ll come with it.
